Bargains in the Produce Aisle?

Yes—you CAN find great values on organic produce at your local co-op. For just one example, the price of organic Fair Trade bananas has not increased in more than three years. They’re still under a dollar a pound, every day. The reason? In part, it’s due to the Fair Trade premium paid to growers! The payment of a Fair Trade premium smooths out the market highs and lows, so that banana farmers and their families may have a more predictable income, and so YOU can enjoy a fair price on bananas, every day.

Check the board at the entrance to the produce aisle for this week’s staff picks, the current stats on what’s local and organic, and more. The weekly sales flyer always has great produce deals, too.
