The farmers of Kuapa Kokoo are co-owners of the Divine Chocolate Company, the world’s first farmer-owned Fair Trade chocolate brand. Kuapa Kokoo’s farmers have invested their Fair Trade income in building schools, sinking wells for clean drinking water to villages, providing mobile medical clinics for farmers in remote growing regions, and fostering projects to help women earn additional income for their families when the cocoa season is over. October is celebrated as “Fair Trade Month” around the world.
The event concluded with a Fair Trade chocolate tasting, accompanied by samples of Fair Trade wines from local importer Etica Wine Company.
So what is “Pa pa paa?” Cecelia tells us it means “the best of the best of the best.” Try some Divine Chocolate yourself and see.
