Join us in October to Celebrate Fair Trade at Linden Hills Co-op. We’ve got a month’s worth of special events for people who want to taste, try and learn about Fair Trade.

Monday, October 8, 3-5 p.m.
Fair Trade is Divine!
Meet Cecilia Donkor, Kuapa Kokoo cacao cooperative; Niki Lagos, Divine Chocolate Company; Erik Esse, Local Fair Trade Network and a representative from Etica Fair Trade Wines to learn about the impact that choosing Fair Trade products can have on. Wednesday, October 10, 4-7 p.m.
Tasting featuring Equal Exchange Fair Trade coffee and snacks: tamari almonds, lightly-salted pecans and dried cranberries.

Thursday, October 18, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Linden Hills Co-op’s Annual Membership Meeting features guest speakers from Equal Exchange’s Fair Trade Farmer Tour, including representatives from the Oke Banana Cooperative, an Equal Exchange Fair Trade coffee farmer, a representative from the Federation of Southern Cooperatives (Equal Exchange’s supplier of fairly-traded U.S. grown pecans), and a local farmer. The keynote presentation is free and open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m. Call 612-922-1159 before October 17 to RSVP for this special event. the meeting will be held at St. Thomas Church/Carondelet School Cafeteria, 2900 West 44th Street, between Upton and Vincent Avenues.

Friday, October 26, 1-5 p.m.
Taste a fantastic locally-made cheese with sweet Fair Trade dried cranberries. Equal Exchange Fair Trade Cranberries are the perfect accompaniment for St. Pete’s Select Bleu Cheese, traditionally cave-aged at the Fairbault Dairy in Fairbault, Minnesota.

Saturday, October 27, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Local meets Fair Trade once again as Jan from Duluth, Minnesota’s Alotti Biscotti Company shares samples of her delicious dunking cookies, along with Green & Black’s hot chocolate.
