Linden Hills Co-op Product Selection Policy

In general, Linden Hills Co-op wants to carry a wide variety of high quality products that are safe for human and planetary consumption and are as cost effective as possible for our members. More specifically, Linden Hills Co-op wants to give strong preference to products that are:

• Organic.
• Conventional without preservatives or artificial additives when an organic alternative is not available or if the price of a similar organic product is prohibitive.
• Seasonal specialties are featured.
• Locally grown organic and conventional foods and goods.
• Minimally packaged, with materials that are manufactured and disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.
• Produced and distributed by vendors who meet city and state civil rights policies and run their businesses ethically.
• Produced or distributed by vendors that are cooperatively owned.
• Produced utilizing practices that support sustainable agriculture.
• Produced by manufacturers who do not utilize animal testing.
• As competitively priced as possible.

In addition, customer requests will constantly be reviewed and considered. Whenever possible the store will provide information on research regarding pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and artificial or potentially harmful additives.

Information regarding the ingredients of products and their manufacturing processes as well as nutritional values of products will be provided.
